School analysis and development in Mexico

Starting school development with a targeted analysis

Polar Partners completed a school analysis for three K-12 schools in Mexico. The results included recommendations to support future-oriented strategic planning and more efficient decision-making in the schools. The analysis, based on the Polar School Concept and its six areas of school improvement, helped to investigate the current status of the schools. The process examined aspects of leadership and management, teacher capacities, curriculum, learning environments, learning materials, and student wellbeing.

Inclusive process

The analysis process applied a systemic approach engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure the integration of various viewpoints. Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used in the analysis. The process comprised desk review of relevant documents, data collection through an online survey for a large group of staff members from the three schools, on-site visits to all three schools entailing observation, focus interviews and workshops, and analysis of the data and drafting the school-specific reports. Additionally, a results workshop to reflect on the outcomes and to steer future actions was held for each school involved in the process. The school analysis outcomes were then used as the starting point for school development.
